The BRFU can confirm that rugby in Bermuda is now at Phase C of the BRFU’s Return to Rugby Roadmap, following approval from the government.
Our rugby community is now able to recommence some larger group rugby activity, initially non-contact, subject to complying with BRFU guidance.
Clubs and Programmes must also continue to follow local government guidelines, along with any restrictions that may be implemented. The latest updates can always be found here: https://www.gov.bm/coronavirus
The return will initially be through non-contact rugby, focusing on touch rugby and other non-contact skills and fitness training, enabling groups of up to 50 people to engage in activity on fields at any time. Clubs and programmes should work with their facility providers to determine safe maximum numbers for their training environments and should conduct a thorough assessment of the facility to ensure that appropriate covid protocols can be maintained, in line with government guidelines.
For coaches, officials, players and parents, please read the following guidance and watch the BRFU’s instructional video on returning safely to rugby in Bermuda:
